During more than 25 years as a Cambridge-based practising surveyor,
Mark Robinson has had wide experience in most commercial property disciplines
and is well qualified to give advice on most aspects of commercial and
industrial property. A brief summary of his career - before setting up
Robinson Property Consultants - follows:
Barker Storey Matthews (1997-2001) - As a Director,
following the merger of Sumpster Robinson Associates with Barker Storey
Matthews, Mark was involved in commercial and industrial agency, valuation,
rent review, lease renewal, rating, planning & development, expert
witness and general consultancy for a wide range of clients, predominantly
in a 30 mile radius of Cambridge. He was also its IT Director overseeing
the installation and adoption of information technology in 4 offices totalling
40 staff.
He advised Cambridge Cable (now ntl) on the design and acquisition of
a new 65,000 sq ft headquarters building at Cambridge Research
Park, Landbeach and was particularly active in the Ely and Newmarket areas.
He has been involved in the majority of transactions at Cambridgeshire
Business Park at Ely, where he has been marketing agent for the
developers since 1992. He formulated the marketing strategy for East Cambridgeshire
District Council’s new “e-space” buildings at Ely & Littleport.
Sumpster Robinson Associates (1992-1997) – As
a Joint Founder and Director, following a management buy-out of the East
Anglian business of Herring Baker Harris, he was involved in commercial
and industrial agency, valuation, lease renewal, rating, property management,
planning & development, expert witness and general consultancy. He
was the project co-ordinator for the refurbishment and relocation by the
Generics Group to 40,000 sq ft buildings at Harston Mill and for the East
of England Investment Agency on its move to new offices at Quayside, Cambridge
.

Mark is assisted by his wife, Carol, who is responsible for administrative
and financial matters. As a former PA for several years to one
of Cambridge’s
leading property professionals, she is fully conversant with
the ways and personalities of the property industry. They are supported
by Kelly and her team of clerical assistants, who provide telephone and
secretarial backup as required.
On a personal note:
Mark & Carol live in Swaffham Bulbeck with their two teenage sons. Outside
work, Mark enjoys getting out into the wide open spaces, whether fell walking,
skiing or sailing and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Cambridge
Rutherford. He also enjoys music, sport, film, travel, good food and the
occasional glass of wine! |
